Official notice of a board vacancy is being published in the January 30, 2025 edition of the Clarion-Plainsman, the district’s official publication. This notice states that the board intends to appoint a person to fill the vacancy within 30 days of the effective date of the vacancy.
The vacancy is due to the resignation of Michael Sieren, who represents the director district covering the city of Hedrick, due to a family move. The effective date of vacancy is February 11, 2025.
The Pekin School Board intends to appoint a replacement within 30 days of the effective date of vacancy, unless a petition is received within 14 days of the date of publication of the vacancy calling for a special election.
Only city of Hedrick residents are eligible to be nominated for this particular seat.
